If you are someone who lays in bed and plays on your phone or tablet before going to bed, you are robbing yourself of good rest and recovery.
Many of us will lay in bed and scroll through our phone or read a book on a tablet until we fall asleep. In most cases, we end up falling asleep out of exhaustion vs our bodies being ready for bed.
Why is this?
The blue light emitted from these devices will prohibit our body from producing Melatonin, our bodies natural sleep/wake hormone. We as humans are designed to wake with the sun and sleep when the sun goes down. Melatonin is produced when the sun sets and we ultimately fall asleep. This process is disrupted when we stare at our blue light producing devices.
So how do we address this?
If you have trouble falling asleep, don't feel like you get good sleep, or struggle with eye fatigue, give one or all of these a try. In most cases, you will notice a difference in a very short time frame.
